Spanish Savoir-Faire

Diplomaticos

Introduced in 1966, the Diplomáticos cigar brand is often compared to the popular Montecristo vitolas. In fact, the brand was originally introduced as a "less expensive" Montecristo. However, the Diplomáticos brand later broke away from this limiting comparison owing to its special blend of fine tobacco. Cigar connoisseurs worldwide have come to covet the brand, savoring it's rich and flavorful, yet medium bodied taste. Made in the Jose Marty factory, all formats are entirely handmade with long-filler.

During the years of the Revolution, Diplomáticos quickly became the favorite cigar among high-ranking officials of the Cuban government, as well as President Fidel Castro’s revolutionary guards.  It also built a solid reputation among the communist revolutionaries from South and Central America.  One such revolutionary is Ernesto Che Guevara — he would often compare his love for the Diplomáticos with the love of a beautiful woman — “Both come and go without leaving a trace,” he would say.
